Overlooking the namesake tree-lined park, these gracious rooms are individually decorated with Venetian and French accents and many have gas fireplaces. Surrounded by fine shops and cafés, the inn sits on a corner at the foot of Telegraph Hill in the heart of North Beach. Beds come with 400- to 600-thread-count sheets, and up-to-date technological amenities include iPod docking stations. The lobby, which has a gleaming mahogany fireplace and brass chandeliers, is the setting for free wine and antipasti in the evening. A complimentary Continental breakfast is served by the front windows.

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 08 in Room 16 which was a quiet room overlooking the courtyard. Great location - walked everywhere! Enjoyed Beach Blanket Babylon which is just a short walk from the inn. Highly recommend!

Nice rooms, nice location. Atmosphere's a little precious. Management is rude. Sort of like a mean Victorian aunt, with a streak of paranoia.
