Smoking in San Diego

Smoking

California has become distinctly hostile to smokers, even when they want to puff peacefully in the open air. The newest laws require those smoking outside office buildings to be at least 30 feet from the nearest entrance. Smoking is banned even in the seating area of outdoor stadiums, but there are designated areas (generally outside the main structure) where it's possible to smoke without breaking the law. Note that some restaurant patios do permit cigarettes. But smoking indoors, other than in private residences and designated hotel rooms, is illegal, even in bars. The luxurious Westgate Hotel now bans smoking anywhere indoors, including guest rooms.
