Easy to find in Europe but rare in San Diego are kebab shops: fast-food Mediterranean eateries where roasted meats and falafel are served on plates of rice or wrapped in flatbread for consumption at all hours of the day. This East Village shop doesn't have much competition, but that doesn't mean it's not first-rate. The lamb is spicy and filling, and fresh tabouli and Greek salads round out the meals. For a delicious meal on the go, order the döner box: a choice of spiced lamb, marinated chicken, or falafel, accompanied by fries or rice, fresh veggies, and creamy garlic yogurt sauce.
