Fodor's Review:

Without question this is the best German restaurant in San Diego County, and the lively bar and beer garden work to inspire a sense of Gemütlichkeit (happy well-being). Tourist board-style posters of Germany's romantic destinations hang on the wall, Spaten and Paulaner flow from the tap. Gigantic portions are accompanied by such side dishes as potato pancakes, bread dumplings, red cabbage, and spaetzle. Entrées include sauerbraten, Wiener schnitzel, goulash, a great Reuben sandwich, and smoked pork chops, plus excellent daily specials such as crisp pork schnitzel with tart red cabbage. Weekday happy hour includes German beers on tap and appetizers. Reservations are a good idea.
