Andaz San Diego Review

The former Ivy Hotel was rebranded in 2010 as the luxury, Hyatt-managed Andaz, whose new owners nixed the snobbery but kept the style. The lobby has a sexy feel, with tall columns wrapped in braided leather, and buckets of chilled wine await arriving guests. The rooms have glass-enclosed baths, walnut floors, and perks such as complimentary sodas and snacks from the minibar. The hotel is known for its nightlife—even Prince Harry partied here when he was in town. A sophisticated wine bar holds tastings, a downstairs nightclub attracts young locals, and a sleek rooftop bar has a pool, cabanas, and views of PETCO Park.
