There's something fun about Sushi on the Rock, from the young friendly chefs to the comically named California-style sushi specialties, like the Slippery When Wet roll featuring tempura shrimp, eel, crab, and cucumber. There are many original rolls to choose from, including the Barrio Roll stuffed with tuna, cilantro, and spicy tomato salsa; the Ashley Roll that pairs seared tuna with soft-shell crab and tangy whole-grain mustard sauce; and the Bruce Lee, with spicy crab,
tuna, and avocado. The Japanese-inspired dishes, including pot stickers and an Asian-style Caesar salad are also good, as is the lobster mac and cheese. This popular spot, which has a patio with an ocean view, gets busy in the late afternoon with people wanting to grab a seat for the daily happy hour (4–6:30 pm).
