George's at the Cove
George's at the Cove Review
An extensive makeover brought an updated look to this eternally popular restaurant overlooking La Jolla Cove. Hollywood types and other visiting celebrities can be spotted in George's California Modern, the sleek main dining room with its wall of windows. Simpler, more casual preparations of fresh seafood, beef, and lamb reign on the new menu chef Trey Foshee enlivened with seasonal produce from local specialty growers. Give special consideration to succulent roasted chicken with escarole, local swordfish with prosciutto-wrapped gnocchi, and cider-glazed Niman Ranch pork chops. For more informal dining and a sweeping view of the coast, try the rooftop Ocean Terrace.
