A family-run pub decorated with artifacts from an Irish farm, the Field has character to spare. Both on the outdoor terrace and indoors, diners enjoy solid meals of Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage, steak with an Irish whiskey-peppercorn sauce or, best of all, a boxty, a lacy but substantial potato pancake served crisp and hot with such fillings as sage-flavored chicken or Irish bacon and cheese. As the evening wears on, the crowd grows younger, livelier, louder, and sometimes rowdier. A traditional Irish breakfast is served on weekends.

Had 2 Blacksmiths after arriving in San Diego. Bartender was Irish and the young man sitting next to me at the bar was from Ireland was well. He was watching soccer (football as he called it) and was helping my husband & I understand the game. Had a lovely time.
