Fodor's Review:

Starting with the setting and concluding with a dinner, fire and water drama defines this signature restaurant that's part of the La Costa resort complex. The centerpiece of the resort's entrance plaza, the grill holds an outdoor patio with fire pits, fountains, and a year-round floral display. Inside is a contemporary Mission-style room surrounding a green bottle glass fountain that extends the length of the main dining room. The menu features local seafood and vegetables combined in exciting ways. As a starter, try the Seafood Roasted Piquillo Pepper, stuffed with shrimp, scallops, lobster, and ricotta cheese, followed by a prime beef short rib braised in red wine and served with broccoli rabe and spaghetti squash. Tantalizing desserts include luscious Carlsbad strawberries marinated in balsamic and persimmon crème brûlée.
