Fodor's Review

You'd be wise to make reservations well in advance for this small, quiet inn tucked away on Coast Boulevard; its popularity with repeat visitors ensures that it's booked year-round. Lower weekly and monthly rates (not available in summer) make it attractive to long-term guests. Rooms are done in a beige beachy style with plantation shutters, ocean views, and flat-screen TVs. Some rooms have fireplaces. Continental breakfast—including gourmet pastries from a local French bakery—is served in the lobby each morning.

Please, take your money and run from the Scripps Inn

Maybe it was once a nice place back in 2004 but in 2006 it's nothing to talk about. They were still cleaning the room after 3 pm check in and trying to fix a refrigerator that never worked properly. The walls needed a paint job or some Ajax to clean off all the scuff marks. The carpets were so badly stained I wouldn't walk around barefoot. The bathroom floor still had hair on it from the previous visitor. The continental breakfast they offered?

The pastries had so many flies landing on them, I lost my appetite. Since they didn't serve any coffee we had to make it in our room. We had a two room suite (that in its self is laughable) with a coffee pot big enough to serve ONE. Don't waste your money!! I'm still crying over the bill!!!

Great place on the Pacific Shore

Perfect location if you want a quiet, charming spot in the middle of one of the most beautiful towns in southern California. Next to the Museum of Contempory Art, a short walk to fine resturants like 'Fresh'. Out the door to the surf - small beaches, great rock formations, seals, pelicans, scuba, and quiet. A very merry Christmas for us. Thanks, Scripps.

Great Location. Across the street from the ocean and walking distance to village restaurants.

My husband & I got married in La Jolla and stayed the entire week in the Suite. The location, atmosphere, suite decor and amazing views beats anything in town. A little $$$, but you get what you pay for. We are going back in one week. Love It!!!!
