Fodor's Review

You can park your boat at the 80-slip marina of this romantic retreat set on a secluded 15-acre peninsula on the Silver Strand. Rooms glow in sand and sea hues and feature upgraded beds with sea-grass headboards; all rooms have furnished balconies with water views. You can rent watercraft—including waverunners, sailboats, and motorboats—and get out on the water, or luxuriate by the tropical oasis that surrounds three pools. The 10,000-square-foot Sea Spa offers a garden

with alfresco showers and Watsu water massages. Exercise classes range from yoga to kickboxing, and the resort's surf instructors can teach you how to ride waves or stand-up paddle.

Great place for a getaway

Stayed at the Loews Coronado over Christmas holiday (12/2004) - first time in San Diego but was glad to stay here and not in middle of downtown. Great room and loved the huge bathroom (separate shower stall). A bit isolated from rest of the Coronado Island but a short drive to shops and restaurants and of course into downtown San Diego. Great facilities (gym, spa, etc). Staff are courteous/professional. Overall very satisfied. Would have been

nice to see the restaurants to be open later but can't complain.

Loews Coronado Needs A Fresh Approach

I stayed at the Loews Coronado just after it first opened. It had a casual cheerful Southern California identity. The lobby, hallways and the rooms were light yellows with accents and blues, very tasteful. Upon my recent return, a more darker Mediterranen influence predominates the lobby giving way to a Mexican almost Aztec theme in the hallways. Opening the door to the room, it is light and bright but the seafoam green and blue color scheme seems

more appropriate for a county cottage. The flow of decor is not cohesive.

Best on Coronado

Avoid The Del (which is too busy and has small poor rooms) and stay at Loews. Although it is 4 miles from the centre of the island and not on the beach, it makes up for this with high quality rooms, a great pool area and superior service. It is a little expensive for what it is.

Its Fabulous!!!

Went to the Loews on Coronado just two weeks ago. It is wonderful. They take you across the street in little golf carts (free) and have towels, umbrellas and chairs (also free) for Loews guets. The beach there is beautiful. The room we had was standard but still had a nice marina view and was quite spacious. It was very quiet and seemed to be great for couples and families. The food at the cafe was wonderful and moderately priced. It is a little

off the beaten path but not in a bad way. Definitely a rental car type place. They are currently building a new spa but we were there during the week and did not hear any construction noise and we were close to it. Only down sides: Can be a long trip from the lobby to the room as it is kind of like five separate buildings although they are connected. Also, maid service a little slow a couple of days but not too bad. Will defnintely go back!

A Wonderful San Diego Hotel

The Coronado Bay Resort was amazing. I had one of the less expensive rooms, but it was still great. There was a balcony with a view of the water, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in (complete with a light down comforter), and excellent service. The ONLY drawback for me was that it was a little out of the way. I would definitely stay there again though.
