Loews Coronado Bay Resort Review

You can park your boat at the 80-slip marina of this romantic retreat, set on a secluded 15-acre peninsula on the Silver Strand. After a $6 million redecoration in 2006, rooms glow in sand and sea hues, and feature upgraded beds with sea-grass headboards; all have furnished balconies with water views. Get out there on one of the resort's rented watercraft or luxuriate by the tropical oasis that surrounds three pools. The 10,000-square-foot Sea Spa offers a garden with alfresco showers and Watsu water massages. One treatment room, catering to teens, is splashed with a Southern California theme—surfboards, palm trees, and the ocean.

At this beautiful waterfront resort, families can choose between rest and recreation. Activities abound, from aerobics classes and spa treatments to tennis, golfing, swimming, and surfing (there's even an on-site surfing academy). Adult art classes are available for the creatively inclined, and food lovers can take part in herb-garden tours and cooking demonstrations. A lending library of games and movies keeps the kids entertained.
