Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve

Nature Preserves, Temecula

Fodor's Review:

The Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve provides a glimpse of what this countryside was like before the developers took over. Trails wind through oak forests and past vernal pools and rolling grassland. A visitor and operations center has interpretive displays and maps; some of the reserve's hiking trails begin here. No pets allowed. Take I-15 south to Clinton Keith Rd. exit and head west 5 mi.
