Fodor's Review:

On a hill above town, this lodge and five Craftsman-style cottages have a sweeping view of the countryside. The luxurious backcountry accommodations are decorated with antiques, original art, and handcrafted quilts. Some of the cottage suites have see-through fireplaces, and double whirlpool tubs—even private patios or balconies. Guests gather in the late afternoon for wine and hors d'oeuvres in the Great Room, where a fire blazes in the stone fireplace. Breakfast is included. Dinner is served nightly except Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to guests only at an extra charge. Pros: Most luxurious digs in Julian, good food. Cons: Limited amenities.
