Silver Strand State Beach

Silver Strand State Beach Review

This quiet Coronado beach is ideal for families. The water is relatively calm, lifeguards and rangers are on duty year-round, and there are places for boating, watersports, biking, volleyball, and fishing. Picnic tables, grills, and fire pits are available, and the Silver Stand Beach Cafe is open during the summer. The beach sits across the street from Loews Coronado Bay Resort and the Coronado Cays, an exclusive community popular with yacht owners and celebrities. You can reserve RV sites ($50 beach; $35 inland) at www.reserveamerica.com. Four day-use parking lots provide room for more than 1,000 cars. Foot tunnels under Route 75 lead to a bayside beach with great views of the San Diego skyline. Amenities : food and drink, lifeguards, parking (fee), showers, toilets. Best for: walking, swimming, surfing.
