A tourist hit, this sizeable new eatery on the shore of Harbor Island is two restaurants in one: the extravagant, dinner-only Island Prime, and the much less formal (if by no means inexpensive) lunch-and-dinner C Level Lounge, which has a particularly choice terrace. Both venues tempt with unrivaled views of downtown San Diego's ever-taller skyline, and in Island Prime, the expense account-ruffling menu of steaks and seafood lists most choices simply as "market price" (and when the bill arrives, it suggests that Chef Deborah Scott shops at a pretty extravagant market). Besides prime steaks, pork chops, and lamb rack, the entrées include composed dishes like the plank-roasted salmon with cucumber salsa. Lunch is the best time at C Level Lounge, which serves hearty pastas, sandwiches, and more. Reservations are strongly suggested.

One of the better of the Cohn group of restaurants. A bit pricey but the food and views are great. Try lunch.
