Kona Kai Resort Review

This 11-acre property blends Hawaiian and Mediterranean styles—the rooms are well appointed, if a bit small, and most have balconies with views of either the adjacent marina or San Diego Bay. The spacious and light-filled lobby, with its neoclassical end tables, velvet sofas, and Oriental carpets over faded terra-cotta tiles, opens onto a lush esplanade. A private beach by the marina is perfect for reading and sunbathing on the sand. The attractive hotel is popular for business meetings. In summer, a two- to four-night minimum stay might be in effect.
