Fodor's Review:

A block from Balboa Park, this is a bare-bones place. All rooms have kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwaves, flat-screen TVs, and DVD players; there's also a DVD movie library. The Wi-Fi and local calls are free. Parking is limited, but public transit is nearby. Save your pennies and book a room with no (that is, with a shared) bathroom for only $59 single, $69 double.

Best Value in Downtown San Diego

You would be hard pressed to find a better value, location and a cleaner hotel in the Downtown San Diego area. Close to all, I saved by walking everywhere or used their free bikes to tour the city and beaches. The staff is awesome and know San Diego well and offer great inside information to enjoy things you may not have known about, like me. I extended my stay for another week. The rates/kichenette/free breakfast/free wifi were super! I will be back.
