The freshest and tastiest fish to be found along Point Loma's shores -- some would say anywhere in San Diego -- comes from Point Loma Seafoods, off Scott Street behind the Vagabond Inn. There's a fish market selling raw catch of the day for customers to take home and prepare themselves, but there's also an adjacent take-out counter selling prepared hot or cold foods -- seafood cocktails and salads, ceviche, crab and shrimp sandwiches made with freshly baked sourdough bread -- for takeout and to be consumed on the premises. There's outdoor and indoor seating (no waiter service), and you can expect crowds throughout the year. Park a few blocks away if you're coming on the weekend; the adjoining lot suffers from extreme gridlock.
