Fodor's Review:
Onyx Room/Thin is the hippest split-level in town. Although Onyx and Thin are separate clubs, the fact that they share the same owners and building makes for many options as you move back and forth between the two, sampling each bar's distinctive look and feel. Onyx is downstairs and feels like two bars in one. In front there's a mood-lighted cocktail lounge, and in the next room acid-jazz bands and DJs keep the crowds dancing on the tiny dance floor. Thin, the upstairs venue, has a stainless-steel-heavy interior that could be the inside of a UFO. Thin is more conducive to the conversation-minded, although a DJ spins down-tempo acid jazz and funk tunes on weekends. Weekend cover charges allow entrance to both clubs.
