Westfield Horton Plaza

Fodor's Review:

Within walking distance of most downtown hotels, Horton Plaza is bordered by Broadway, 1st Avenue, G Street, and 4th Avenue. The multilevel shopping, dining, and entertainment complex is an open-air visual delight, with a terra-cotta color scheme and flag-draped facades. There are department stores, including Macy's and Nordstrom; fast-food counters; upscale restaurants; the Lyceum Theater; cinemas; a game arcade; and 120 other stores. Park in the plaza garage and any store where you make a purchase will validate your parking ticket, good for three free hours. The San Diego City Store (619/238-2489) sells city artifacts and memorabilia, such as street signs and parking meters. The yellow Surfing ok sign is a typical San Diego-inspired souvenir.
