Fodor's Review:

Formerly George's at the Cove, a $2.6 million makeover brought a new name and sleek updated look to this eternally popular restaurant overlooking La Jolla Cove. Hollywood types and other visiting celebrities can be spotted in the sleek main dining room with its wall of windows. Simpler, more casual preparations of fresh seafood, beef, and lamb reign on the new menu chef Trey Foshee enlivened with seasonal produce from local specialty growers. Give special consideration to imaginatively garnished, citrus-cured yellowtail, succulent garlic-roasted chicken, chickpea-crusted petrale sole, and spice-braised Duroc pork shoulder. For more informal dining and a sweeping view of the coast try the rooftop Ocean Terrace.

A wonderful place to watch the sunset and have a delicious meal at the same time. At night, it can get a cool. Not all of the heat lamps warmed up the many tables, so bring a light jacket just in case. Service was quick. A lively crowd, all seemed to be having an enjoyable evening.

After a day so relaxing, shopping and sight-seeing in La Jolla, we chose George's at the Cove for our dinner. The service was very friendly, the food was excellent and the ambiance very nice. They are in the process right now of remodeling, so it's bound to be better than ever in a few weeks when the remodel is complete. Don't miss this one!
