La Jolla Playhouse Review
The playhouse crafts exciting and innovative productions under the artistic direction of Christopher Ashley, May through March. Many Broadway shows, such as Tommy and Jersey Boys, have previewed here before heading for the East Coast. The playhouse has three stages: the Mandell Weiss Theatre has the main stage, the Mandell Weiss Forum is a thrust stage, and the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre is a black-box theater.
