Striking Spanish-Moorish details like painted ceilings and wrought-iron chandeliers are only part of the appeal of this lovely restaurant in the historic House of Hospitality. It also makes contemporary fare, friendly service and patio dining available to legions of museum and theatergoers who come to Balboa Park. The bar is a fashionable destination for creative drinks and light nibbles spiced with Latin, Italian, and Asian flavors. In the dining room, lunch specialties range from fish tacos and panini to risotto and paella; for dinner opt for one of the unusual surf ‘n’ turf combos. Late evening happy hours are ideal for posttheater snacks and drinks. Parking in Balboa Park can be daunting; take advantage of the valet parking at the entrance of the restaurant.

One of our favorite restaurants! We go here at least twice a month. Great for lunch. Fantastic soups and their hummus is awesome! A winner of the Cohn group!

We had lunch outside, near the tinkling water fountain. It was so serene, quiet and beautiful; didn't want to leave. Service was quick and complimentary hummus and crackers were served. Wished I had time to go back for dinner.
