Fodor's Review

If there's a convention in town, Blue Point gets jammed with diverse diners who share a taste for seafood. The menu swims with classics like crab cakes, mussels in tomato-fennel broth, and halibut crusted with breadcrumbs, herbs, and diced lobster meat. The small but serious oyster bar, which serves both raw and shellfish, is a warm-up for the menu of more seafood, plus chicken and steaks. The wine list is impressive, and the service is friendly. The airy dining room has gleaming woodwork and walls of windows looking onto 5th Avenue and Market Street. A streetside patio is a prime corner for people-watching.Valet parking in front is available for $15. The restaurant will take $5 off the dining bill for parking with evidence of a valet parking ticket.

Bring money and a full stomach.

Our appetizer was two each crab cakes, but where mixed with a filling. Each was about the size of a U.S. dollar, and cost about $13. A low priced wine by the bottle is about $48. The portions were very small. Our main course was delivered warm; not hot. The "liquid chocolate" cake was yummy. Drop $165 here for two people.
