Fodor's Review

For more than 50 years, generations of San Diegans and visitors have enjoyed this Polynesian-theme icon with its stunning bay and city skyline views. Much of the kitsch has been replaced by more contemporary decor, but you’ll still spot tikis here and there. The menu is a fusion of Hawaiian, Asian, and California cuisines with an emphasis on seafood. Standouts include the Hawaiian tuna poke, Mongolian lamb with pad Thai, and pan-seared barramundi with coconut lobster sauce. Vegetarian and gluten-free menus also are offered. A visit won’t be complete without a world-famous Bali Hai Mai Tai topped with a little umbrella.
