The San Diego State University Aztecs (619/283-7378 or 877/737-8039. www.goaztecs.com) compete in the Mountain West Conference and attract the most loyal fans in town, with attendance rivaling that of the NFL Chargers. The biggest game of the year is always a showdown with Brigham Young University. Like the Chargers, the Aztecs also play their home games at Qualcomm Stadium. The Holiday Bowl (619/283-5808), one of college football's most-watched playoff games, takes place in Qualcomm Stadium around the end of December.
