Over-the-Line in San Diego
Over-the-Line
As much a giant beach party as a sport, this game is a form of beach softball played with three-person teams. Every July the world championships are held on Fiesta Island, with two weekends of wild beer drinking and partying. Some good athletes take part in the games, too. Admission is free, but parking is impossible and traffic around Mission Bay can become unbearable. Check the Web site of the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (www.ombac.org) for more information.
