La Jolla Icetown (University Towne Centre, 4545 La Jolla Village Dr., La Jolla. 858/452-9110. www.icetown.com) offers open skating, group and private figure-skating lessons, hockey lessons, pickup hockey, and hockey leagues. You can watch from the mall's food court above the rink. Iceoplex (555 N. Tulip St., Escondido. 760/489-5550) has two Olympic-size rinks, a fitness center, a heated swimming pool, a sauna, and a restaurant. It offers public skate sessions, figure-skating and ice-hockey lessons, pickup hockey, and hockey leagues. The San Diego Ice Arena (11048 Ice Skate Pl., Mira Mesa. 858/530-1825) has public skate sessions with skate rental, group and private figure-skating lessons, hockey lessons, and youth and adult pickup games.
