Tuolumne County Museum and History Center

Fodor's Review:

The Tuolumne County Museum and History Center occupies a gold rush-era building that served as a jail until 1951. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it houses a museum with vintage firearms and paraphernalia, a case with gold specimens, a cute exhibit on soapbox derby racing in hilly Sonora, and the historical society's and genealogical society's libraries.
