For a unique—albeit spooky—evening, head to this "haunted" English Tudor-style hotel. Mobster Bugsy Siegel opened the property in 1929 as a brothel and private gambling resort; today it's a certified historic landmark, which was completely restored in 1993. Each of the rooms, decorated in florals and English and Belgian antiques, is named for the aspiring actresses who once entertained here. In summer, wine and hors d'oeuvres are offered in the wine cellar, just steps from the secret tunnel used by gangsters in the hotel's heyday. A separate cottage, which sleeps four, includes a fireplace, TV/VCR, kitchenette and garden patio with barbecue and Jacuzzi. Pros: Historic property. Cons: Small rooms, no television.
