Desert Springs J. W. Marriott Resort and Spa Review

With a dramatic U-shape design, this sprawling convention-oriented hotel is set on 450 landscaped acres and wraps around the desert's largest private lake. Some rooms in the main building have lake or Santa Rosa Mountains views, balconies, and oversize bathrooms. It's a long walk from the lobby to the rooms; if you're driving, you might want to request a room close to the parking lot. Despite the business vibe, this resort offers many family activities, such as hiking and tennis lessons for kids, a massive pool area, and boat rides that depart from the lobby. The spa features a Turkish hamam (bath).
