Movie Colony Hotel Review

Designed in 1935 by Albert Frey, this intimate hotel evokes mid-century minimalist ambience. Its gleeming, white, two-story buildings, flanked with balconies and porthole windows, evoke the image of a luxury yacht. Rooms are elegantly appointed with soft desert colors accented by bright reds and yellows; many features, including tiny showers, are authentic to the period. A cool vibe prevails in late afternoon, as sophisticated young guests gather together during the wine hour and again over morning coffee and a sumptuous Continental breakfast served in the flower-decked courtyard.
