Palm Springs and the Desert Resorts Restaurants

El Mirasol

El Mirasol Review

This local favorite storefront café serves up a traditional Mexican menu including tastefully prepared pollo en mole poblano (chicken in a red mole sauce), carne asada, and shrimp in garlic tomatillo. There's also a selection of vegetarian items, including spinach enchiladas, burritos, and salads. Outdoor dining is available.

We really enjoyed our meal at this slightly out-of-the-way restaurant. I had the chicken mole and my girlfriend had a shrimp dish and both were delicious. The waiter was polite and knowledgeable. The cadillac margaritas weren't overly strong but they were inexpensive so they were a good value.
Luckily we got there about 6:00 pm, because it got very crowded soon after that -- with locals, not tourists.

Gringo Mexican food with little to no spices. If you like El Torito you might like this place. However, even El Torito's food has more flavor than El Mirasol's.

We had lunch here last week and it was really good. We ate at another Mexican restaurant while in the area(La Casitas) and it wasn't even close. This is the place to have Mexican food in the Palm Springs area. And DO NOT miss the Margaritas. They are extrordinary.
