Pioneertown

Pioneertown Review

In 1946 Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, the Sons of the Pioneers (the music group for whom the town is named), and Russ Hayden built Pioneertown, an 1880s-style Wild West movie set complete with hitching posts, saloon, and an OK Corral. Today 250 people call the place home, even as film crews continue shooting. You can stroll past wooden and adobe storefronts and feel like you're back in the Old West. The owners of Pappy & Harriet's have an outdoor concert venue for about 500 people where they present popular bands and singers. Gunfights are staged April through October, weekends at 2:30.
