Big Morongo Canyon Preserve

Big Morongo Canyon Preserve Review

Once a Native American village and later a cattle ranch, this preserve is a serene oasis around a natural spring generated by snowmelt from the surrounding mountains. Big Morongo attracts all manner of birds and animals to riparian woodland filled with cottonwoods and willows. Several nature trails lead to views of an 1890 Cahuilla home, stream orchids, and a butterfly and hummingbird garden. You're likely to spot great horned owls and many songbirds here any time of the year.
