Dining in the desert is casual and low-key. Expect to find many good, but not stellar, dining experiences. Fare, once limited to Italian and a smattering of French choices, now includes fresh seafood, contemporary Californian, Asian, vegetarian, and steaks; you can find Mexican food everywhere. Restaurants that remain open in July and August frequently discount deeply; others close in July and August or offer limited service.
