One of the largest properties around, Palm Canyon Resort includes a hotel a quarter mile from the park visitor center and a busy RV park with 130 spaces. Rooms, which vaguely reflect the western ambiance of the resort, are in two-story motel-like buildings that surrounding the pool; most have balconies or patios with pool or mountain views. Decor and appointments are bare bones. Pros: Proximity to state park, inexpensive. Cons: Most amenities are in the RV park, popular with groups and off-roaders, very limited facilities and services in summer.
