Mountain biking is a great way to see Joshua Tree. With newer routes opened in backcountry areas, there are plenty of trails waiting to be explored. Keep in mind that all except Thermal Canyon are also open to horseback riding.

Covington Flats. This 4-mi trail leads you past some of the park's most impressive Joshua trees as well as pinyon pines, junipers, and areas of lush desert vegetation.
