Joshua Tree Essentials

Accessibility

Black Rock Canyon and Jumbo Rocks campgrounds each have one accessible campsite. Nature trails at Oasis of Mara, Bajada, Keys View, and Cap Rock are accessible. Some trails at roadside viewpoints can be negotiated by those with limited mobility.

Admission Fees

$15 per car, $5 per person on foot. The Joshua Tree Pass, good for one year, is $30.

Admission Hours

The park is open every day, around the clock. Oasis Visitor Center is open daily 8-5; Cottonwood Visitor Center, daily 8-4:40; Joshua Tree Visitor Center, daily 8-5; park 24 hours. The park is in the Pacific time zone.

Emergencies

Emergency assistance within Joshua Tree is limited. Emergency-only phones are at Intersection Rock at the entrance to Hidden Valley Campground and Indian Cove Campground; call San Bernardino Dispatch at (909) 383-5651, or dial 911.

Lost and Found

Report any lost or found items at any of the park's visitor centers.

Permits

Free permits—available at all visitor centers—are required for rock climbing.

Public Telephones

Pay phones are at Oasis Visitor Center and Black Rock Canyon Campground. There are no telephones in the interior of the park, and cell phones don't work in most areas.
