Fodor's Review:

One of the biggest misconceptions people have about Disneyland is that they've "been there, done that" if they've visited either Florida's mammoth Walt Disney World or one of the Disney parks overseas. But Disneyland, opened in 1955 and the only one of the kingdoms to be overseen by Walt himself, has a genuine historic feel and occupies a unique place in the Disney legend. There's plenty here that you won't find anywhere else: for example, Storybook Land, with its miniature replicas of animated Disney scenes from classics such as Pinocchio; Alice in Wonderland; and the Indiana Jones Adventure ride.

Worth Seeing Once

Posted by Er7Ve from San Diego, CA on 10/16/07
I'm a young adult, grew up in the late 80's and early 90's watching the Disney Channel. They would constantly run the old television specials with Walt Disney talking about the building of his theme park and what was happening next. I was fascinated. After moving to California, I had forgotten all about Disneyland. A friend mentioned that we should go, and it rekindled all those old memories. I must say, a lot of the "magic" was lost for me as everything seemed much more shrink-wrapped and packaged and less genuine. I don't think the Disneyland of today is the Disneyland Walt had of yester-year. However, this is the park we have...and it is still a wonderful place to visit all your favorite Disney Characters and ride some very enjoyable rides. The summer wait times can be HORRIBLE...so, go during the fall or early spring...but, check it out.
