Blue Lantern Inn

Fodor's Review:

Combining New England-style architecture with a Southern California setting, this white-clapboard B&B rests on a bluff overlooking the harbor and ocean. A fire warms the intimate, inviting living area and cozy library, where you can enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine or play backgammon every afternoon. Don't miss the sweeping harbor and ocean view from the inn's patio dining area. The spacious Nantucket-style guest rooms also have fireplaces and updated bathrooms with whirlpool tubs. The top-floor Tower Suite has a 180-degree ocean view. Forgot your toothbrush? Don't worry, the staff will take care of you. Pros : gas fireplaces; amazing harbor views from room #304; afternoon wine and cheese; breakfast buffet. Cons : nearby restaurant can be noisy; understaffed compared to larger resorts.
