Hotel Casa del Camino

Fodor's Review:

This historic Spanish-style hotel was built in 1927 and was once a favorite of Hollywood stars. Its ace in the hole is the large rooftop terrace, with clear ocean views—an ideal spot at sunset. Rooms have warm color schemes; beds have feather duvets to ward off the seaside chill. Those on the highway side of the property are apt to be noisy. K'ya, the hotel's cozy restaurant, has a contemporary menu with French and Asian influences. Pros : breathtaking views from rooftop lounge; personable service; close to beach. Cons : decor a bit dated; frequent on-site events can make hotel busy and noisy.
