Fodor's Review

The most opulent of Disneyland's three hotels, the Craftsman-style Grand Californian offers views of Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. They don't push the Disney brand too heavily; a small image of Bambi on the shower curtain is the only branding you'll find in the wood-panel rooms. Restaurants include the Napa Rose dining room and Storytellers Cafe, where Disney characters entertain children at breakfast. Of the three pools, the one shaped like Mickey Mouse is just for kids, plus there's a child activity center so parents can have time to themselves. Room-and-ticket packages are available, and guests can enter a park an hour earlier than everyone else (schedule varies between the two parks). The Mandara spa has a couple's suite with Balinese-inspired art and textiles. The 50 popular Disney Vacation Club villas have full kitchens, balconies or patios, and laundry facilities.
