Scharffen Berger Factory

Fodor's Review:

A cloud of chocolate-scented vapor welcomes you to the factory tour. You can get a history lesson on cocoa and the company's relatively recent debut and success. Suit up with ear protection and a hair net, then file in to see where the magic happens. Happily, you can get generous tastings throughout the talk. Tour reservations are required, so call in advance and arrive 10 minutes before start time. At the shop you can snap up special annual chocolate bars.

  • Open: Mon.-Sat. 10-6, Sun. 10-5. Tours daily 10:30-3:30 on half-hr
