Fodor's Review

From its location in the heart of wealthy, horsey Rancho Santa Fe to the warm Gallic welcome extended by proprietor Bertrand Hug and the talents of chef Martin Woesle, Mille Fleurs is a winner. The quiet dining rooms are decorated like a French villa. Menus are written daily to reflect the market and Woesle's mood, which means you may find some interesting seasonal choices, such as Maine lobster salad with avocado, mango, and lemon dressing; green herb-crusted lamb chops; or Weiner Schnitzel with quail egg and arugula salad. Save room for desserts, which might include crème brûlée with lavender cookies, an artisanal cheese plate, or homemade minipastries.
