Fodor's Review

High-quality Chardonnays have always been Landmark's claim to fame, led by the flagship Overlook wine, with grapes from multiple vineyards going into each vintage. The winery also makes several single-vineyard Chardonnays, including ones from Rodgers Creek (Sonoma Coast) and Lorenzo Vineyard (Russian River Valley). Landmark's other specialty is Pinot Noir. As with the Chardonnays, there's an Overlook Pinot Noir using grapes from multiple sources, and winemaker Greg Stach crafts several single-vineyard wines, among them the highly praised Sonoma Coast Grand Detour Pinot Noir. Stop here to sample wines, relax in the landscaped picnic area, and play a game of boccie ball with the craggy Mayacamas Mountains and Sugarloaf Ridge forming the backdrop. The estate tour and tasting is by appointment only. On Saturday afternoon from mid-spring to early fall, you can tour the vineyards in a horse-drawn carriage.
