Fodor's Review

"Gun lock bun shoe" gets you close to pronouncing this winery's name correctly, though everyone here shortens it to Gun Bun. The Bundschu family, which has owned most of this property since 1858, makes reds that include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a Bordeaux-style blend of each vintage's best grapes. Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, and two rosés are also in the mix. Parts of the 1870 stone winery where standard tastings ($20) unfold are still used for wine making. For a more comprehensive experience, book a cave tour ($40), a Pinzgauer vehicle vineyard tour ($60), or a Heritage Reserve ($85) pairing of limited-release wines with small gourmet bites. Some tastings and all tours are by appointment only. On some summer days you can enjoy the outdoor Vista Courtyard's broad vineyard views while tasting wines paired with cheese and charcuterie ($30).
