Fodor's Review

Pass through an impressive metal gate and wind your way up a steep hill to reach Gary Farrell, a spot with knockout views over the rolling hills and vineyards below. Though its Zinfandels and Chardonnays often excel, the winery is best known for its Russian River Valley Pinot Noirs, crafted these days by Theresa Heredia. At the tasting bar ($15) you can sample Sauvignon Blanc and other winery-only wines; depending on the weather, seated tastings ($25) focusing on single-vineyard

Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs take place on an outdoor terrace or indoors near a fireplace. The Pinots from the Hallberg and Rochioli vineyards are worth checking out.
