Clos Pegase Review

Designed by postmodern architect Michael Graves, the Clos Pegase winery is a one-of-a-kind "temple to wine and art" packed with unusual works from the art collection of owner and publishing entrepreneur Jan Shrem. After tasting the bright Sauvignon Blanc, fruity Chardonnays, and mellow Pinot Noirs, Merlots, and Cabernets—they're made in a soft, approachable style and meant to be drunk somewhat young—be sure to check out the surrealist paintings near the main tasting room, which include one by Jean Dubuffet that you may have seen on a Clos Pegase label. Better yet, bring a picnic and have lunch in the courtyard, where a curvaceous Henry Moore sculpture depicting Gaia (or Mother Earth) is one of about two dozen works of art.

    A classy and inspiring experience

As promised, Clos Pegase delivers architecture, art and excellent wine. And for very little money, you can taste great wines and admire original Bacons, Dubuffets, classic sculptures... Since it is not centrally located in the Napa valley, it is not too crowded. I loved it.

    Rip off wine tasting

Paid $10.00 for a tasting of their high end reserves, got less than one taste of two wines. Completely indifferent staff, walked away and never came back. Is the tasting room their new money making market? Don't waste your time being treated like a dumb bumpkin tourist, there are so many other wineries with great or better wine who are happy to see you and treat you with respect. Long time visitor of Napa Valley- will not return to Clos Pegas again.

    Snobby staff

The place is realy beautifull and the wine is great but the staff is very snobby and does not give you attention. You will not feel welcomed there.
