Chateau St. Jean
Chateau St. Jean Review
At the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains stretch the impeccably groomed grounds of Chateau St. Jean, an old-country estate. Pick up a map in the tasting room: it will identify many of the flowers, trees, and hedges lining the neat pathways in the formal gardens. After a spin around the grounds, whose style harmonizes with the sprawling Mediterranean-style villa, step inside for a tasting of fine whites like Chardonnay and Fumé Blanc and reds that include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The unusually large gift shop sells clothing and housewares, including a fully equipped picnic backpack. Daily tours (weather permitting) focus on the garden.
